i write them to say that the their package are not as good as should be.

3-4 days later, no reply from them to know if the crown of my sks is good or if i want to return the gun

fortunately , everything is ok, but i like a little bit consideration when someone make an mistake. i don't want money!!!

I've bought lots from Sean, and never had issues especially with communication. In most cases he answers pm's within a couple hours. I did get a wrong Tapco stock once compared to what I ordered for which he offered a refund but I ended up keeping anyway...

That's horrible. It looks like they accidently shipped you a piece of trash they were going to throw in the garbage. I would be looking for a refund based on that packaging job alone. Literally, a child could do a better job.

So it just arrived in some styro-warp and a black plastic bag? That's pretty crappy shipping IMHO.

yeah, that the way they ship me my sks. a little bit dissapointed.

all i can say, is that i will never buy again from them, or if i buy again, it's because they apologize to myself for that crappy packaging

i shipped last week to ski991 an old remington sportmaster and you can ask Him about my packaging... a lot of bath towel, newpaper, in a strong box.

Mine was shipped exactly the same way only 1 flimsy coat of bubble wrap you must have paid extra for the foam, mag directly against the stock which chaffed it all to hell and damage to the end of the barrel as well ,
the negative press is there for a reason

maxpower, claven2, we shipped out a total of six SKS's that way before our rifle shipping boxes arrived. (this is the exact same way many other companies who advertise here on CGN also ship their SKS's to their customers) If the end of the barrel is exposed from the wrap, that is the carrier's fault. We have insurance for that.

Maxpower, you never contacted me at all. I respond to all emails, PM's, and phonecalls provided their are diplomatic and are not in an attempt to draw me into a fight. If your gun is damaged, everything is sent insured and you're covered. Did you phone me? Did you ask me to open a damage claim? I have two telephone numbers and a fax #. I have no messages from anyone asking me to call them back about a damaged SKS to open a claim for damage.

BwanaDave, It's me that's ignoring you, not the other way around. Your PM rants rate #1 for the worst I have ever seen. I cannot let your conversations detract from my job of running my business. If you want to change the tone and direction of your private messages which I warned you to do repeatedly before I started to line my delete folder with them and engage in an diplomatic, adult conversation, I have no problem with that. Again, I will not engage anyone that is trying to pick a fight.

If you guys want to have a public discussion with me, I have no problem participating provided the discussion is based on facts and is presented in diplomatic manner. Do the rest of the the users here a favor and move the yard fight over to my sub folder so the rest of the users here can enjoy the Red Rifles forum for what it's intended for.

HI killerkane, i wrote to moregunssupply@hotmail.com, the e-mail was for shawn.
the only person i know at your shop. maybe he don't respond to e-mail.

i do not even know you killercane, if a was knowing you, i'd pm you. you seem customer friendly. maybe i just had a bad luck.

anyway as i said, the rifle is undamaged, i'm not an a**hole, i don't want money, exchange or anything else. i'm very happy about your fast shipping and the quality of your sks.

sorry i couldn't phone you, my english is terrible on phone as you can see.

Sweet...I am going to start shipping rifles in a single layer of newspaper. If the barrel pokes out, that is the carrier's fault, not mine. There is definitely no need to adhere to a reasonable standard of packaging when shipping a firearm or anything.

you should have refused it and sent it back.

Shipping problems

Perhaps these guys should take a lesson in shipping from Trade-ex. DOUBLE cardboard carton (one inside the other), and lots of newspaper to keep things from rattling around inside.

By the looks of things, Trade-ex seems to make their own cartons out of large pieces of cardboard in some cases. Lots of tape to keep them shut too.

With automated mail handling systems, anything can happen to a parcel. I used to work for Purolator (Purolator is or was owned by Canada Post), and packages were sent down a conveyor line, and went into large wire cages for shipment.

The thing is, your Grandmother's prized set of dishes might be followed into the cage by someone's forty pound anvil. Not good.

If the Carrier is Canada Post, it is a real hassle trying to make a claim from them. I am not up on the current shipping regulations from Canada Post, but it used to be that the SHIPPER was the one who had to make the claim, as he had all the information, receipts, etc., even though the RECEIVER probably paid for the Insurance on the package. It might still be that way.

Glad to hear you change the way you ship.

Ok here is the easiest instructions for shipping a rifle.
As to moregunssupply give a guy a break.
He will probably never ship it like that again. We all learn from our mistakes.

Be nice he had good intention plus his prices competitive.

Remove the thicker middle layer of foam and trace an outline of the gun onto the foam layer.
Standard_Step_2.jpg

Using a fillet or kitchen knife, cut out the shape of the gun. Cutouts can also be made for scopes, bolts, clips, or accessories.

Standard_Step_3.jpg

Place the rust-preventative poly film over the gun cutout.

Standard_Step_4.jpg

Press the gun into place. Fold the remaining poly film over the gun.

Standard_Step_5.jpg

Replace the top layer of foam.

Step_6.jpg

Tape all edges of the box securely and it's done!

Step_7.jpg

Presto.

This is the best instructions. Cost of shipping box about 15 dollars.

I wouldn't have been as kind as you had I received that package. I pack the guns I sell reasonably well, and if I buy, I expect the same. I have been really fortunate to have bought guns from sellers who knew what they were doing and packed the guns well.

Having said that, your SKS came packed in a totally disgusting manner. I wouldn't ship a POS that way, much less a rifle. Ask for a replacement rifle shipped the right way. Who knows what kind of internal damage has been inflicted on the rifle? For the muzzle to punch through packing material that way, it is possible it was dropped muzzle down, who knows.

BTW, Westrifle's packing shown above, is THE way to do it best, IMO. You know the rifle will get to its destination in original shape.
