A little website help?? Noob still. Exchange problems.

Sorry if I'm not sending this to correct place. But I cannot tell if I'm "in" the exchange section of website. And when I try and contact a member about a item they might be selling by sending them a direct message, it takes me to my "message inbox" and I can't tell if my message was ever sent to said member. And when I click on "sent items" it does not show any.
I thought I "joined this group".. again, I'm sorry. I'm just trying to figure this out. Any help would be greatly appreciated vets of this site or Administration . Thanx

Go to the EE, pick any catagory and click the "post new thread" tab at the top left. If it lets you, you're in. If it says no, you're not.
As far as I know you have to click the "save in sent folder" every time if you want to save a sent message.
