A look inside the US Army’s Spectacular Hidden Treasure warehouse

Your right it is not secret, (which was never implied) but it is hidden away from general viewing, which was how it was posted!

Also your also correct that the Brit's probably have a worthy collection as well, but I am pretty sure they never kept as many varied military day to day items over the years like the Yanks have. Also they used to scrap a lot of stuff that others would keep.

Anyhow here is the British version that is now moved from hidden away to public display -

Yes, it's definitely a great link! Hope to see it all someday in the U.S. Army museum, since it's not possible until then :(

I'm noticed most of the firearms on display at the CWM to be of mediocre quality at best, with very few nice original items for viewing.

In 2001 I had a chance to visit the museum at fort knox. During that time we ( the military group) had a chance to see the annex. We got a drive to a part of the base with some old buildings and inside was armor lots and lots of armor. Every thing from ww1 to the present. We were allowed to touch and crawl into every tank and sp gun. I wish I had pics. Fort knox also houses a large collection of armor captured by americian forces now sitting in the open rusting away.

Anyone been to the The Donnington Historic Weapons Collection/Combined Military Services Museum in Maldon Essex when they were last visiting the UK? If so it would be nice to hear what they thought of it compared to the Canadian War Museum! It cant be too big a place as I noticed on their website that they say they have spaces in their carpark for 10 cars!
