The only good thing that this could possibly be used for, is to advise the gov't and the populace of how much this portion could cost them, the CSAAA would have to add in all the accessories involved for these guns that can't be returned to the US as well. How many people have bought scopes & sights & etc, that are worth as much or more as the guns they bought.
And about all this thread does is reinforce the thought, that gun owners are their own worst enemies.

If this was secret, it tells you right there that there was knowledge of this sort of reaction should the agreement get out. So CSAAA knew they were being shady.

From Ryan of SFRC, resignation post, there was also a non disclosure agreement. One that the libranos have broken. Yet Wes Nessman of Elwood epps played right along on a video today, made no mention of a breach/cancellation of terms, or backing out.

I believe the first two, sfrc and O'Dell. These today feel more like damage control when obviously time passed and legal remedies could have been explored, but apparently were not. So we're sorry. (that we got caught)

If you read the sfrc thread before it was scrubbed, you wouldn't belive him.
The more he talked, the more he implicated himself.
Not 1 penny moving forward will go to sfrc.
He then cries like a ##### because multiple posters caught him in his own web of deceit.

Yes I edited my posts after seeing that roundtable, zoom/skype meeting. Maybe it's a naive character flaw, but I wanted to believe in integrity and honour. I realize retail is hard, some still refuse to believe despite more and more damning evidence, but the whole lot of them are no better than JR Cox. Some businesses will be impacted by their own betrayal of us and close, ironically far before if/when they see a dime of government money.

Just had a thought. Since this is transparent as mud....who's to say $700,000 is the real number, and someone didn't get a payout to influence board votes. Speculation, but it's the Liberals after all.

I didn't mean you edited, I meant sfrc

Do you really think that the liberals are going to lose control of the narrative and allow their new industry partner to announce anything?

According to Wes’s video the vote was unanimous to accept a deal with the devil. That would have been an executive meeting only as many dealers and other CSAAA members were totally out of the loop about the deal. And it’s shocking to hear that this secret deal was started last year.

It’s ironic that the CSAAA agreed to sign a NDA and not disclose details of the deal but weren’t smart enough to have the government abide by the NDA as well so now the government can quote small pieces of the agreement and spin it to their hearts content. Not very smart.

Wes mentioned numerous times that he didn’t receive any compensation from the government for this deal. He kept repeating that, lol. The dollar amount, 700g wasn’t supposed to be mentioned according to the NDA but Mendocino was quick to point out the CSAAA was going to get paid for their cooperation…

A deal with the devil while outstanding court cases are still in progress is mind boggling..

Yep 100%. Firearms owners are the least supportive group of people I’ve ever been involved with. The name calling, hysteria I’ve seen in the last 24-48 hours here is actually laughable. Everyone comes out of the woodwork to blame, but when these companies/people could’ve used support no one was to be found.

We are not enemies here, stop pointing fingers and work together like a cohesive community.

The CSAAA stabbed us in the back. I hold people accountable and anyone who voted in favor of this deserves to be boycotted. Grow a set.

Weak statement. He is part of the reason for the division. All gun owners were lock-step in solidarity for years, and the letter writing campaign helped to withdraw the amendments to C-21. This.....un-intelligent decision by the board of CSAAA sowed the seeds of division.

BTW, is Wolverine Supplies still a member of the CSAAA?

no they weren't. there have been divisions in the shooting community since I joined it in 1984. target shooters vs hunters vs practical shooters vs service rifle shooters vs collectors. all of them have had siloed thinking more than once. why do you think there have been some many firearms associations?

The wolverine family have put more money where their mouths are than many.

Ya and one of the Wolverine members put a knife in all of our backs when he sold out and made a deal with the devil behind our backs.

Write the letters, panic buy Ar’s and pistols, sign petitions, donate the money…..blah blah blah. I’ve done them all and I’m done. Hopefully the firearms community will have the same response to the government as they do to these business when the time comes. That’s my only hope left, that we don’t cave like these once comrades have.

Thank you for all you have done, much more than most. Can you explain exactly what's going on now? I'm probably stupid, but I don't know where we are with the legal side of this. Please advise, thanks a lot.

I understand that some businesses had to do something, I wouldn’t want to be stuck with 10’s of thousands locked up for years. The government always twists words around. I’m sure some people don’t understand or misunderstood. I know you didn’t sell out or throw firearm owners under the bus. Wolverine has always treated me right and has been great from the day I got into firearms. I speak for myself, thank you Matt. Thanks for everything you’ve done for firearm owners. You’ll always have my support. I hope you’ll see past a few crappy comments that obviously stung. I can definitely relate to unhappy people making cruel comments. It’s a rough time for all of us, please don’t give up. We need your continued support.

What?? ……that’s why it’s so ####ed.

I'd write something myself but would probably have it removed (censored) as what happened on a previous CSAAA board member and business owners page today. So I'll just agree with some quotes already posted.

..the CSAAA negotiated a collaborative 700k contract with the Libs when everybody - small shop - gunsmith and even non gun business refused to be part of it in the past. The Libs can now claim and they do - the industry is onboard and agree those guns are not to be in the hand of civilian..just when many individual and business are in court to beat that IOC…great timing.

It’s a major political win for the Libs and antis.

The CSAAA put inventory compensation on the table in return of a collaborative 700k contract - working against all gun owners in that action. The dealers have inventory - we have millions of $ in our safe purchased from the same dealers. This should have been the main concern.

Wolverine did more than many in protecting our right in the past - but they just blew up that history by being part of that CSAAA travesty.
We also did our parts by buying and supporting Wolverine and most of those members on the CSAAA board that just stabbed us in the back.

I have no sympathy for CSAAA members that participated - negotiated and agreed to that contract - knowing very well they were participating in the Libs gun grab and undermining ongoing court challenges.

The damage is done.

Yup agree.

Just walk away from the mess your created, at least your getting paid for the inventory no one wanted. If you want to save face, disband the CSAAA. At no point facilitating a buy back with the government is with in the mission statement of the CSAAA.

"To promote and protect the legal rights of manufacturers, importers, resellers and stakeholders in the Canadian shooting sports industry."
There is no difference in a retailer or a gun nut that cant sell or use there property.

The CSAAA just sold out the shooting sports......

Btw, its not government money. The government has NO money. The government uses OUR money.
