Far too many folks want to start out with a master piece and get there on their first try and feel that failure is not an option.
Too often such folks leap in and fail in many ways. Or they consider the risk and simply never try. They simply don't seem to realize that we need to start off on something more modest and sneak up on the skills needed to work on the truly great jobs. Perhaps seeing what can be done to some old and crusty looking .22 and how good a training subject such a rifle can be might help some to make a lower risk start.
