A Modernized SKS

No, the trigger group is not the controlled component of an AR-15. But to answer QuinnBrian as well, here is a thread by a fellow detailing his struggles to drop an AR-15 trigger into an SKS trigger group. I'm not convinced that's the best solution.

Did I mention that this system doesn't depend on the stock for function at all? You could keep your wood stock and even your bayonet if you wanted.

I've never bothered modding my SKS... but this I would do if (when) available.

I'm sure a side-folder stock would be an easy option to have down the road too.

The availability is that of custom installation. This setup requires extensive, non-reversible modifications to the trigger group.

SKS triggers need a fair bit of "finishing" but they are actually a great design.

Yes. Getting a second proof-of-concept prototype sorted out right now. When it's done it will come with some cool features. Left side non-reciprocating charging handle, bolt catch release lever, all the current features too.
