A Modernized SKS

I like wood and metal. The plastic sucks. I have a sub 2000 and it is neat but sucks with the plastic. My vote is for a metal stock or wood.

No, the trigger group is not the controlled component of an AR-15. But to answer QuinnBrian as well, here is a thread by a fellow detailing his struggles to drop an AR-15 trigger into an SKS trigger group. I'm not convinced that's the best solution.

Yep that's what I wanted to do....looks like it's been done. Should make your sks, more trigger friendly. Easier to aim. With out all/most of the SKS grit.

I've never bothered modding my SKS... but this I would do if (when) available.

Nice work!

I'm sure a side-folder stock would be an easy option to have down the road too.

Hey man.
Awesome work. Gonna do the same mod. Thanks for inspiration. Are you planning on offering this as a service cause all of the guys I have showed this too would be in.
I want a project so I'm gonna try myself. A closer look at the safety mod would be appreciated
Cheers C.C.

Yes. Getting a second proof-of-concept prototype sorted out right now. When it's done it will come with some cool features. Left side non-reciprocating charging handle, bolt catch release lever, all the current features too.

Looks great, I'd love to see how it ended up, sorry if I missed it in the video

This design evolved into a system of modifications that keeps much of the original steel and wood aesthetic, but with modern features. Here are a few of my recent builds.
