A month of long range in Phoenix (pic heavy)

The action on Jim's rifle is the very action I used to review the BAT 3 lug for Precision Shooting. That article can be found here: http://riflemansjournal.########.com/2009/08/bat-three-lug-action-by-german.html

When I was done with the review, a friend contacted BAT and bought the action through Bruno's, then built the rifle. I liked the action so much that I ordered a left-hand version and a few years later had a complete rifle (long story...). Great action, and I think Jim certainly has a top level rifle for F-TR.

He certainly does, nice going JIM!!

Is there enough room in it "weight wise", to switch over to Henry's bi-pod? lightened up it's about 3 pounds, and you can cut out a little more if your not trying to hold up a car...

Will do final weigh in when I get it but a Rempel is definitely in my future! May have to stay with my Sightron but that is no real hardship.

Yah, i don't think i would swich a Sightron to get a NF. For F-TR the weight difference is certainly not worth it..

Excellent to have another 6xc shooter here with extensive testing knowledge on the caliber. I'm sure you will get lots of questions German. Welcome to CGN!

I contacted Michelle Gallagher from Berger Bullets and received the following info concerning next years Berger South West Nationals. I am planning an extended stay to take in the weekly matches as well. Looking for 2 month rental properties now.

"We’re planning to run the match from Feb 5-10, 2013. These dates are tentative until we receive confirmation from Game and Fish, but we are confident that they will be approved. I hope this helps with your plans."

Sorry, only planned on adding to my Berger South West National post, did not mean to duplicate.

Phoenix - final entry

This is the final entry to the story. My souvenir has arrived.

I purchased this rifle in late February before I left from Phoenix after a month of shooting.
I had a new Krieger 1/10 fluted barrel installed by Lester Bruno of Bruno's Shooting Supplies in Phoenix which was competed in May.
The rifle was then imported by Prophet River and showed up at my doorstep last Friday.
It has been out to the range four times since then and let's just say my scores have improved quite a bit over the firearm I was using.

Components:
Bat three lug action
Master Class stock
Jewel bench rest trigger
Krieger 1/10 .308 fluted
Sightron 10-50
Sinclair bipod

I am looking forward to returning next year, hopefully for another month of shooting.

that is one nice rifle, wish I oculd get a stock like that for my new BAT in the works, a PRT one like the Jim crofts rifle is about 1800 beans completely finished, and that is a lot of change,

once agian Nicely done Jefferson
