A must Read. A real good insight that was forwarded to us. SHARE WITH EVERYONE!!!!.

Thanks for the information. Is your message that this is going to be a slow process so don't get too worried because a conservative government will be in power next election, and the assumption is they will reverse these regulations in the criminal code? That is quite a few assumptions.
Even if the process is slow, the outcome is that semi-auto "black" rifles will be banned. Handguns next? Semi-auto shottys? What might remain is break, bolt, lever and pump action, and non "black" semi-auto rifles, and rimfire.
I recommend following https://firearmrights.ca/ and supporting their challenge to the regulations.

Yes nice post.... them being seen and using an opportunity to garner more financial support so they can be seen more. Listen, the BEST way to utilize your money to help the firearm community is to support a political party or representative that can affect real change. Forget the ORGS unless the combine into 1 ... then I'm all in

Being seen more right now isn’t a bad thing. It’s still early and we need people right now to get on TV and at least be a face and voice for us. The continued misuse of the term “assault style firearms” is doing so much damage right now. Any visible opposition only helps to educate the masses and maybe make the ignorant curious enough to find out that we are indeed all law abiding hobbyists.

I also completely agree with you. Without strong politicians supporting us it will be a hard fight to win. This has to be a multi angled strategy or we are going to get walked over and stomped.

I am just trying to defend our pro guns orgs (especially CCFR) - they are grossly underfunded because vast mijority (around 98% ?) of licenced gun owners do not even want to get a $35 membership, BUT same cheap ones put these orgs under a big fire of criticism for „not doing anything” - that’s wrong !

I am a member of the CCFR, OFAH, CSSA, and IPSC (I know not a gun Right org) and I buy my wife the same memberships, were both CSSA range officers we are involved as much as we can.

I'm a member of the CCFR and CSSA, and active at my local range and politically. The gun rights orgs do a good job of fighting back against the talking points of anti-gunners. We need action at all and every level including advocacy, politically, and educating your friends and neighbours who don't own firearms that Canadian firearms owners are safe and responsible. THe CCFR/CSSA/NFA/CSAAA all have a little different background and goals. Every gun owner in Canada should be encouraged to be a member of at least one of these groups as well as take the time to call their elected officials and work to elect responsible government. All of these groups do a better job of advocating for firearms rights than any individual firearms owners can do alone.

Don't forget, the Liberals are working on handguns next... Support all of the organizations that advocate for responsible firearms ownership. IMO, modern sporting rifles have been targeted because they are very popular with new firearms owners and bring lots of new members to the range and to purchase firearms and accessories.
