A new Canadian company in the 10/22 game?

I also work at Area 51. I do enjoy fishing. But enough about that.
I AM however curious about if this stuff is any good.
I AM NOT however curious about their hush hush tubes because I cannot get one at the moment and complaining about it on a forum won't help it.

Can someone with some knowledge of metalurgy comment on the use of magnesium for a reciever? Seems wierd to me but I know nothing of its structural properties. Aside from it is used for fire starters and car rims. Lol

I will buy one once the initial batch goes out and nothing more

I support dlask and others before a new start up company makes statements of the best, hogwash they have not got even a dozen barrels out there, o test results and so on, they are a joke so far

At least up until now and website leaves a lot to be desired, need to know who owns them and who works there and who produces the barrels on what machine

My assumption is that they are using a magnesium alloy. Generally, it's about 30% lighter by volume, and higher strength to weight ratios than aluminum alloys. They are also less thermally conductive (although that isn't all that important in this application). They are easier to machine, and very high speeds can be used. A number of magnesium alloys have aluminum in them.
Magnesium alloys have been around for a while. For example Mag-thor is a magnesium alloy that has been used in military and space applications since the '50s.

I'm supposed to be getting a couple of receivers and barrels for testing in the next few weeks as part of their sponsorship of the Canadian Rimfire Precision Series and Project Mapleseed. I'll be posting initial impressions and range testing when available. They offer a number of interesting receiver models based on your sport - flat top, 0 MOA, 20MOA and Red dot ready milled receivers.

Why all the hate for a brand new company? Until proven otherwise, I would cheer on a new company trying to bring us shooters more Canadian made products. I remember there was a lot of hate when Dlask started their line 1022 and AR15 products as well. Come on guys get with the program and no, I'm not in any way connected with Greybirch Solutions.

I don't see any hate aimed at the company. Just hate of Canadian laws that don't allow us to use hearing-saving suppressors. but no hate aimed at the company. Maybe some healthy skepticism because it appears that the owner behind this company may be a guy that has a history of showing disdain towards his customer base and using them as unwitting beta testers for his products under the guise of a lifetime warranty. But no hate.

I sincerely hope this new company makes awesome products and is successful. I just won't be one of their first wave of customers. The same cautious approach I'd take with any new manufacturer. If they make a quality product, that quality will speak for itself and we'll see them finding their place in the market.

Questionable past in the firearms industry maybe. New kid on the block and bragging about how great they are with Worlds best Barrels. That's a big statement and ive never heard of them taking medals in any competition, let alone a world championship. Sounds like false advertising to me!!! Just my opinion but think ill steer clear. Have at em Rickster66 but doubt ill see you wielding one in competition. Short peoples opinions do matter!

Others who are well respected for manufacturing barrels and parts in Canada are endorsing this new company. I knew a few people who have ordered both the barrels and recievers, and are impressed with the service and accuracy. I am impressed with the fact that they are entering into the market as a Canadian company, willing to support groups like CRPS and Project Mapleseed. I am buying a replacement barrel for my 10/22 and I am looking forward to the upgrade.

Did it take three months and two weeks to come up with that response? Im all for buying Canadian and can show you all of my receipts from Dlask,MDT and lots of other companies that are Canadian. I was merely stating theyre doing a lot of braggin with no real proof. I am happy to hear your aquiring a new barrel for your gun. Just out of curiousity ,are you not affiliated with Mapleseed and Rickster66 of the CRPS/ORPS. Sounds like an advertising campaign too me for maybe a barrel upgrade. At least be honest!! Like whos the WELL RESPECTED BARREL MANUFACTURER ENDORSING THEM? Would it be the same company supplying the blanks theyre turning into their carbon fibre barrels. Kinda stupid not to promote them NO. Worlds best is earned not just declared, kinda like respect. Cheers

No real advertising going on or marketing efforts bein They donated equipment that we'll be using at our events (both Mapleseed and CRPS). I will actually be using the receiver and barrel at matches this summer. Its an option. We've all made mistakes in the past that we'd rather put behind us (myself included). I have no idea who their barrel partner is and really, to me, it doesn't matter as long as it performs. I'm open minded and seeing a few of these receivers and barrels being shipped to folks across the country. I expect folks to be posting their experiences as they start to get shot. I'll post updates as I have them in the coming weeks.

Just did a domain lookup, they're hiding the registration behind a proxy. These ppl sure went to a lot of bother to make sure no-one knows who they are lol... even their fine print contains no clues as to identity.

Only thing I've been able to figure out is they're out of the GTA. That other company was from the Toronto area?

Don't know about you, but when a new guy shows up claiming to be the "best", with nothing to back its claim... it kind of reminds me of some hunters claiming that using their 30-30 they can split cards at 100m, standing, in tne wind...

Pussies, I do it in a 40mph crosswind, gun upside down behind my back:)

So, Someone could endorse S&J and I really know its fake. Anyone going to like a company esp when they give out free stuff. Sorry that just how it is.

Where are the reviews? I seen only one on CGN. Most people are recommending Kidd.

Yeah, with reloads using your homemade powder and bullets carved in linotype...

Seriously, I wish them the best of luck.
- And maybe tone-down the claims until the products have proven themselves...

That is my main problem with them. Claims with no proof to back them up. Over confident, and cocky.

3 months and who are they still?
