A new hunting optic..?

FFP or SFP, MOA or MIL, is the scope strictly for hunting ?? budget $$ exposed turrets or not, 1", 30mm or 34mm tube, there are lots of options but you need to narrow down what features you want in a scope and go from there

I'd suggest the Athlon brand, try their USA website for all the selections then find a Cdn dealer. Several are sponsors. I find the pricing competitive with many brands.

As said, the use will dictate your selection but your wallet will dictate your purchase. $100 or $10,000 ?

PS - there are some good deals on the EE, in all price ranges. IMO you get more for your 'Buck' there.

No longer middle-aged eyes, full on OAS eyes for me. I've switched over to Austrian or German optics with "tree-trunk thick" German #1 or #4 reticles. As long as your optics are not ca-ca, that's all you need for almost too dark to shoot light.

The problem with a massive objective lens is that you will likely not be able to get a good, repeatable cheek weld, which is necessary for accuracy.

See if one of your buddies has a Swarovski, Kahles, Zeiss, Schmidt Bender or Hensoldt scope with that reticle that you can look through, especially at last light.

Even if it of lesser power, the good glass & the reticle, will prove its worth.

My $0.02 Cdn.
