Kinda like driving a moped. It's a lot of fun till your friends see you.
Won't be quite that bad, as long as it shoots half decently.
Well, am interested to see what a guy can get for $400.
It has been blowing half a gale up here, so never went to the range. The five loads are using H450, increasing one grain at a time, to check for both accuracy and velocity out of its, hint, 22" factory barrel. May get up there late this evening.
Funny you should say that. It reminds me quite a bit of a TIKKA.
Here's another hint. The rifle also comes in 338 Win, and at the same weight! Now that would be some mittfull.
Roger that, and I did also get a 782 in 300 Win, but not begun really wringing it out yet.

Moped's are exceedingly cool now. Much cooler than a Patriot.

Yupp. I've got an ATR100 in 243 and it shoots quite nicely for a $235 gun. Hell it shoots nicely for a gun twice the price, 1.5moa with cheap federal blue box or Rem corelokt...

Well, Ted, we are eagerly awaiting the test results.
On a related theme, I was at our range the other day, and
there was a guy with a brand-new 783 Remmy in 30-06.
He was shooting Fed Blue box, 180 grain ammo.
He shot 4 groups, and the biggest was right at 1 moa.
He was a happy camper. D.

D.Right, and that is exactly why I wanted to try this rifle, Andy. It is about $100 less than the Rem 783 in 7mm Rem Mag, which I bought a while ago for $500, and found to be exceptionally accurate.
The recoil we can be sure of,track. The groups will hopefully be as you predict.

My experience with the 783 7mm Mag is the same, although I was shooting handloads. The other amazing discovery was that not only was it accurate, but had the fastest barrel I have ever seen in a 7 mag: 160 Partitions at well over 3100 fps! This, the same load that runs a bit over 3000 in several other rifles.
The wind is finally dying down a bit, Dave. Nearing 20 K at the moment, so will probably get up there today.
