Thought this funny and wanted to share with the class.
I was at the gun show Sunday and saw a Lyman 1200 tumbler for sale with media. I have been putting this off for a while and decided to make an offer and he took it. Got home, set it up and ran 40 cases of 30-30 through it and this is what I got.
A perfect camo finish. Great for sneaking up on your rifle with it or just hiding it around the house.

So, I'm off to buy new media....

The green media is corn cob, walnut is red.

I suspect some kind of wax or polish was used with the media and way to much was put in. How long did you tumble for?

Since it was my first attempt, I followed the directions and tumbled for two hours. At that point they looked like you see them in the pics. Continued to tumble for three more hours in hopes that they might improve. not luck.

Agree...someone put something in it, I have used that product and never had something come out like that. You may have a fine coating of green on the cases not like that. Did you dump some newshine or wax in the media and not let it work through before dumping the cases in?

Also used dryer sheets will help reduce the amount of dust clinging to your brass.

Some people put dryer sheets in with the media. It does aborb alot of the crap. Unfortunately what these people don't know is that the sheets are supposed to be used ones. I find just a Jcloth works well.

I've seen this happen with my tumbler if the media is wet or it's been stored outside (garage) with high humidity. Tumble again in dry media and you'll be fine.
