so I am finally getting into reloading and having fun ordering all the little doodads and thingamajigs needed fer getting started,I placed a order at Cabelas Canada(a terrible sin I know) ordering some bl-c 2 powder as thats what my manual called for,no big deal only 25 bucks ("some special shipping and handling charges may be applicable") for a pound I placed the order sunday night and recieved a call friday evening saying that the shipping would be 184 dollars.....waitaminute ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY FOUR BUCKS!!! I ofcourse cancelled the order and am now wondering is cabelas trying to pull on over on me? where do you guys buy your powder? and how much is shipping? I am also very PO'd that cabelas waited until friday to call me thereby meaning I have to wait another week for the rest of my order to get here  anyway just thought I would share that with you and also find out a better source for powder.
Thanks,
Hunter,

Wow. It wouldn't be much more to call a hotshot for it...

I've only ever bought powder locally, at P&D Enterprises.

As I understand it though, for online orders it is usually most cost efficient to do bulk orders since quite often shipping charges are applied per order and not per item. Would not surprise me if they had the same shipping charge for a 10 pound rifle as for a 1 pound powder bottle. If you can I recommend buying local, unless you can afford to do bulk orders or find truly fantastic deals. I'm actually not sure of where to order powder, never looked.

Yup it ain`t worth the shipping for 1 can. If you are buying large amounts then Higginson will pay the shipping on 28 lbs or more i believe. If you live in the boonies then stock up when you head to civilization.
