A pair of lovely enfields. What do I have and what are they worth?

Hello all! My club recently received a generous donation of some rifles. We've kept some that are useful to us, but the rest we are selling to raise some money to help us keep going.

Here are two more of them. A Lee Enfield No1 MKIII* and a No. 4 MKI. I would like to know any history or important features, as well as a fair market value for the guns. Thank you!

First up is the No .1 MKIII*.It appears to be mostly all matching, barring the magazine. The bore is shiny, but the grooves are dark.

Next is the No. 4 MKI: Looks solid overall. The bore is excellent. #1 Bolt head, not matching, but made from at least Savage and Longbranch parts.

i'd say $700 and $400-450.

A couple of lovely rifles there. Nice that the No1 MKIII * has matching nose cap. The wood looks to be in good shape too. Lift the rear site up and gently lift the rear top handguard as the serial number should also be on the barrel. It would be nice to clean up or change the brass butt plate and add new screws.

Nothing overly special about either of them, but still look to be nice original examples and should appeal to Enfield collectors....Value wise I'd say approx. $700 (ish) for the No1 and approx. $550 (ish) for the No4

Could always put the No1 up for a bit more and see how it goes. There's always an Enfield collector out there looking for a matching number rifle...

Certainly give some attention to cleaning up the butt plate on the No1. New screws and some Brasso to polish it up would be great!
