A perfect Jungle Carbine

I've never seen one in perfect condition before... now I can take this picture to my local gun shows so I know when they are selling fakes.

Oh please! Cut the crap. What a panel of experts.

Clearly this is a harpoon meant to be shot from a #1 MK3 harpoon gun then to detonate from inside the whale carcass, or U-boat if necessary. I will spare the details because it is prohib and you can look it up for yourselves.

Check out my new Jungle Carbine, it's near perfect in every way! Can't wait to take it out and shoot it!

Did it come with a story? I saw something similar but better done years ago (more rounded pistol grip) for a guy with just one arm. Had a stubby forend so he could push it up against a window frame or a branch when hunting.

Location: "Enfield" - is this some sort of sick joke? :p

Nope- I actually live in Enfield :) But the original posting was a joke. I suppose there may be some merit to Dosing's theory, but I didn't git any backstory on it. It's a 1917 BSA No 1 Mk III* with overall decent metal, the barrel ring is intact and bore not bad. I'm collecting parts to try and make it right again.

What people do to firearms !! ugh

you could put some hockey tape on the barrel, it'll keep your hands from getting a chill

seriously .... bubba'ed wood in the fireplace and needs a decent wood coat ...it'll be nice again with some tlc

Good work!
Where did you find the wood and metal bits?
I have a 1917 Canadian Enfield I want to restore but refuse to use Ishapore wood sets.
And here is the "Before" shot, and it's "After- After" shot, made right with the world again...

I think it looks much better this way..

The forend and some other bits came from the EE (Thanks Dave, (Tank1967 ) via Numrich originally I think. The upper front handguard is a reproduction, and appears pretty good, it did need some sanding and finishing to fit and match. Assorted hardware , screws, swivels came out of England. I do have some extras if anybody needs some. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out, hope to have it out for a shoot next weekend.
