A pistol calibre AR... in 7.62x25!

Very creative!

Are those endomags in Canada yet?

I wonder if there would be any value in putting together a magwell block to feed from TT-33 pistol mags.

That’s the kind of place a 3D printer would really shine.

If going for a mag adapter, np762 mags would give more round capacity over tt-33 mags...

The gas port and location I got from a gunsmith in the States that has done a few of these gas operated rifles. His instructions from email conversations are a .125" port located 2.000" from back of barrel extension.

The gas tube is a super short custom thing. I'll take a photo without the handguard in a bit.

I need a friend with a 3d printer to make a mag block if the endomag style thing I'm going to attempt doesn't work.

The only barrels specifically prohibited in Canada are pistol barrels less than 105mm in length. Apart from the under 105mm pistol barrel, there are no prohibited barrels.

OP - very interesting project, particularly as you chose to go with a gas operated design, rather than a blowback. I cannot help but think, though, that using corrosive surplus ammunition would require lots of cleaning. I note that you are using commercial ammunition.

You are right the barrel isn't prohibited the firearm is

LESS THAN 18″/457mm BARREL LENGTH RULES:

CC s. 84(1) “prohibited firearm” (d): If the barrel has been SHORTENED to less than 18″/457mm, after leaving the factory, “by sawing, cutting or ANY other alteration or modification” that forces the firearm into the “prohibited firearm” class.

Will it run steel? The real measure of a PPC carbine in 7.62x25 is if it can run surplus. If it jams up and prefers brass then the appeal becomes quite expensive.

Since I don't know of any stock x25 barrels making one is fine. Folks don't make gun laws your holy text to presume a barrel, even short, cannot be made from the ground up.

I don't know why people care about the ops barrel length. Not like anyone other than him possess it. His barrel his risk.

Why is the 762x25 so popular? Cheap?

Cool project, lots of skill OP

Why did you go for gas operation rather than direct blow back like the 9mm versions/conversions?

Scott

Because simple blowback is sh!t. If you can make the rifle have some sort of delay or lockup, you can dramatically reduce the weight of the gun, as well as reduce the recoil generated by heavy parts slamming around inside the receiver.

Get a life.

You don't understand the law you just posted.

The law is pretty simple to understand .
But feel free to interpret it any way you like .
Now that the OP has said he manufactured his barrel it would not apply

If I purchase a 16" AR barrel it is not illegal to cut it down to whatever length I prefer. Note that I have no reason to do so considering that it is much easier to just purchase the desired length.

A barrel is not a regulated object until it is attached to a firearm.
