The post was originally made in jest, and even that has value --- life would be dreary without a bit of humour. The intent was not to belittle the seller, and for the most part, the responses have steered away from this.
I enjoy reading about how people ascertain the value of their possessions, and it's interesting to hear what people's take is on the rarity of certain things. For example, I agree with Calum's experience that PCMR-marked rifles aren't common, at least at the places that I've been looking.
It's also interesting to see the difference in value between the US and Canada on these firearms. Gunbroker is a good source of info on current selling prices IN THE US but you have to be careful when you extrapolate this data to Canada. If you follow both the Canadian and US markets, you'll notice some sharp discrepencies in the pricing of certain firearms.
