Recently a folder that had all of my registration certificates got accidentally destroyed. I called up the CFC spoke to a real nice fellow about my problem and he said that the CFC would mail replacement certificates out within a day or 2. Great!! I expected more hassle but the exchange was very positive.
Yesterday I got 18 envelopes from the CFC along with 18 sheets of green paper that the 18 registration certificates were wrapped in.

Now I truly appreciate the service the CFC has provided, but maybe , just maybe all of the certificates could have been stuffed into 1 large envelope and saved a ton of postage that we tax payers are paying for and also shown that the government actually DOES care about the environment and saved a tree and all the costs of turning said tree into paper that is about to be thrown out?

No small wonder our taxes are so high.

Rant mode off!

Well at least they did not charge you on top of the waste of time and supplies.

They should be charging 10 bucks for 1-4 certificates, 20 bucks for 5-8, 30 bucks for 9-12 etc etc.

So you saved 50 bucks!

So days will soon be over for all these freebees. Justin will get around to making it a user pay system. Then we'll have reason to complain.

and the government wouldn't have spent a dime had the taxpayer not "accidentally destroyed" their certs.... not sure the blame falls on the gov't for this one.

Not defending them but I had a family member that worked for gov office and they also had requests for multiple documents. Once the request was entered in the computer the mailing portion was computer processed and machine mailed. No paper folded or envelopes stuffed by human hands.

Yes and for that I am thankful. I fully expected to have to pay for my mistake.

Better computer system then to batch requests going to the same recipient. no excuses for the waste of $ :) ...

What is even dumber is that they can email you your transfer and ATT but NOT your registration. It is a way of keeping staff. Just wait until they are part of a union. all this paper we have to carry around keeps us safe though. Also love how you can get exempt from having a photo on your license. What happened to a secular society.

My thoughts on this are best expressed by the words of these people.

"The only thing that saves us from the bureaucracy is inefficiency. An efficient bureaucracy is the greatest threat to liberty."
Eugene McCarthy, quoted in Time magazine, 12 February 1979

"Bureaucracy is the epoxy that greases the wheels of progress."
James H. Boren, in When in Doubt, Mumble : A Bureaucrat’s Handbook (1972)
