a promise

When I saw the thread titled "a promise" I thought you were promising to fix your 4X4. :D

So, future hunter got to go through a bit more ammo after he fired off twenty five or so of mine did he?
If that keeps up you'll be down a rifle and looking through Doug's collection shortly.
The water line on the driver's door says the water was about two feet deep in that big puddle we went through.

That is a good deal for you fogducker... I started out a few youngsters over the years with licenses, guns and hunting trips, even gave one lad a damn good black lab.
They are grown men now and they have all paid me back time and time again... a kindness never goes unrewarded.

lol..to a promise to fix my truck:) .i dont have to promise that..my truck gets treated better than i treat myself.. but then again after getting in and out of tritons camp with only two wheel drive... like who needs 4x4
.im not worried of loosing a gun,to a guy that has earned it..i cant wait to see him take it from me and take his first deer...
speaking of deer:) how was the road kill, for being banged up?

well:) im willing to up the ante a bit..if any one out there has a place for this poor of a excuse of a child to earn this gun.. im donating a cgn cap:)
but the rules are...he has to reload his own ammo..and he has to hit a lonnie at 50 yards..so if you thinkyou can teach this brat to do this:) i got a cap for you if he hits the target...
mind you i have to be there to witness all;)

for a coveted CGN hat hell bring him here for a week i'll getting him shooting dimes off of liberal foreheads at 500 yrds without a nick well maybe a graze or 2 at first using factory rnds

so what do you,s think?am i asking to much of him?or will he take my gun from me before i know it:eek:

Hows he to shoot this loonie? With a rest? free hand? If he can shoot it free hand i would say he earned the rifle.

i dont care how he hits it...as long as there is a hole in it:) as long as there is metal on all edges..

How did Robert Service put it:

" A promise made is a debt unpaid and the trail drives it's own strern code"

My appologies to the master poet if I have it wrong.

It's great to see young people getting into the sport, and what a way to start off. Making him earn a rifle while honing his skills. My grandfather started me out with the .22 before I was even big enough to hold the gun by myself! Since then I'm after putting millions of rounds through that little rifle, and I still have it today in just as good or better shape than when it came out of the factory. You may be sorry for losing a rifle, but I'm sure the pro's outweigh the con's in this case.

Hope you nail that looney soon!

And since you quit smoking, you just might find that extra cash to buy a new rifle.......watcha gonna get hmmmmmm?

hey fogger he called up his grandparents and was bragging about his weekend.all involved with this last weekend thanks you guys left a lasting impression on him. THANKS GUYS

Bit of a dirty trick just to get the kid to do the dogging for you ... LOL

Congratulations, another "GunNut" in the making ! ( and I'm sure if he's from
sturdy stock like Mrs. Bear & Mr. Dawg, you've likely lost the rifle. I would demand the Loonie back however ... get it framed and keep it for posterity.
When that kid has a young'un, remind him what his Uncle did, produce another fresh loonie, and tell him to be prepared to hand over that old Remington ! A legend in the making !
