A question about the M1D scope.

What does the number on the scope below the Danish ownership crown mean? Is it the number of the rifle that it was previously installed on, or some kind of inventory number?

Its thought the FKF, or Forsvarets Krigsmateriel Forvaltning (Danish Defence War Materiel) etched markings on M-84 (and some M-82) scopes appear be reflective of rifle serial numbers.

But many US arsenals stored bolt and scopes separately as a security measure
So, they didn’t care if the numbers matched when issued
Checked headspace and sighted in the glass

Most of these M1D rifle’s were turned into parts kits and sent to America
DistriCorp sold them retail for about ten days complete and sold scopes/flash hiders separate
Then that was it
Don’t think they had many to begin with

In the late 90's, a number of the Dainish M1D kits were imported into the US by AIM Surplus, Ohio and a few others. I don't recall the Flash Hiders (i.e., M2) were included. The preponderance of parts (including correct M1D barrels, mounts, and scopes) were USGI, but there were some Italian (PR, BMB, BMR) in the mix. Most of the scopes were FKF marked, but there were exceptions.
