Just wondering what ammunition you find works best in your beretta? You may have seen my other thread about my gun failing to extract with Sellier&Bellot 124gr. So basically i want to find out what other people have had luck with so i can rule out ammo as being a factor of why my guns is jamming. Im especially interested in hearing from people who have shot S&B from their beretta to see if they may had the same issue as me.

thanks

I've heard lots of people complaint about Beretta's and S&B ammo but I've never tried it. I've had a few Beretta's and used Winchester and American Eagle Ammo without trouble.

Only shot Winchester, Remington and American eagle...0 problems! I reload now and after thousands of rounds never had a problem! Other than 1box that jammed every 3 rounds or so (wrong load- way too light that wouldn't cycle the slide) showed me that it has to be the easiest gun to clear jams with! none of that shaking the brass out of the ejection port that happends with other guns sometimes. Just pull back the slide and tilt the gun sideways a little (either side!) and you're done! :)
....

I'd say try other ammo (ANY other ammo) 92 should be 100% I never worry about the OAL or bullet profile when I reload for my 92! If it happens again something's up.

I've had a few Beretta 92's, including at least one 92FS. Never had an issue with ammo in any of them. But mostly shot my own 120 gr lead SWC loads.

NAA.

Never used "S&B' -- but she 's eaten factory feds, a LOT of hot IVI, & more than a lot of handloads with NO probs at all .

I've shot S&B and not had a problem but only about 6 boxes worth, versus a case or so of everything else.

Then again I never had a problem with any brand really, from American Eagle bulk to reloads to Federal +P+.

The only thing I've noticed is the fixed sights seem to like 115gr ball versus 124gr or 147gr ball as far as hitting nearest POA, which makes sense.

even my old sb likes the winchester white box 115 grain- i've never even seen s&b on the she;ves out here- but i use a lot of 130 grain cast over a 5 grain of 231- that's a load that's not for everybody- but is sure works in the uzi- you have to use a load with enough recoil that it pushes the bolt back far enough so it catches the sear

92 eats about anything out there...
though with that, I've only shot American Eagles and Fed so far. No failure after roughly 500 rds

I hate how expensive the ammo cost is now-a-days...

Its winter, get into reloading and build your supply for spring, summer.

Reloading is the closest way to get back to the good-old-days pricing, barring time travel, McFly. :)

True enough, i wish i had the know how to reload. Well it seems a few of you guys have shot American eagle and Winchester and those are both the brands i was going to try next. I figure if the my beretta eats them with no problem i can rule out the gun is being the problem and blame it on the ammo. The only reason i havent tried switching the ammo yet is simply because my range only carries S&B right.

thehulk, what type of lubricant are you using? I am asking this because using grease rather than oil will gum up the slide and cause a lot of extracting issues.

i use hopps 9 solvent to clean and thier lubricant to oil. I just bought the whole cleaning kit from them and so far it worked wll on my other firearms
