To those in the know, I sometimes see antique muzzleloading percussion shotguns that started out in life as a flintlock firearm.
With these 90 degree turns under the percussion nipple, were these later day conversions 100% relaible??

If you mean dependable ignition, the answer is that they should be if the drums are installed properly. The improper way would be to have the threads of the drum extending into the breach recess and not permitting powder to get close to the flash channel. If the threads are trimmed so that the drum ends flush with the inside of the barrel, they are just as dependable as a gun that began as a percussion gun
