Get a bar of Ban-it stain remover soap - its enzyme based - 2 clams at Home Hardware. Good for all organic stains - blood, mustard, grass, etc. Wifey will like it too... The trick with any of the blood removal schemes is to not wash it in warm or hot water, that seems to set the stain. In the case of Ban-it, it takes 3-4 times longer if the stain has been prewashed accordingly.
