I took my minty (250 rounds through it) USP .45 to the range last friday, and noticed that most of my rounds (@~12 feet) seem to drop low left of bullseye... I shot roughly 200 rounds through it that day.

Im no crack shot, but I can shoot 'decent' with a pistol. I also had somebody else shoot it as well and they were doing low left as well.

Is there something Im doing wrong procedurely(?) or is it something to do with it being a newer fire-arm?

I've heard of the berrel break in 'myth' but was unable to find anything other than the rifle thread.

Im using American Eagle .45 (obviously) 230 grain FMJs... right now its the only ammo I can find locally... could that be causing it as well? (I remember reading somewhere here about different amunition having different effects.

Ohh yeah and to add... im a newbie semi-auto shooter.. I've shot revolvers before... than went to the glock 22 .40 and I havent had the problem with it... But this one puzzles me.

bobbing your head, anticapting recoil or grip issus..left is to tight I think..somebody should post the NRA pie chart

@Rob... its both me and the 2 Jareds doing it... And with the other pistols we shoot a lot better (and you know JW dont shoot that bad)

I could understand if it was JUST me doing it... but not people that have shot fire-arms for Eons (hey JW is old lol)

But thanX

I've experienced that with my USP .45's and it's always been the shooter. Try shooting it from a rest and see what happens?

Yeah it seemed to improve... it must've been and the other shooter just not being used to it...

ON a different question (just didnt want to start another thread)

WHich ammo is best to use in .45 I plan to buy a case next pay cheque (in 2 weeks) but dont want to buy something I'll regret later.

Just for Plinking and MDPL

Help is appreciated.

Just about anything you can get locally will be A-OK. For factory stuff, I've run expensive ammo and cheap ammo with no issues. So Blaser, Winclean, American Eagle or whatever should be fine.

TheGamer###,

Try shooting so that the FRONT WHITE DOT is your point of aim (IE, cover the target up with the dot)

Many German guns (at least Sigs (i know they're swiss) and HK) are "zeroed" for POA/POI at the white dot centre mass at 25 yards.

This is why i got some Adjustable target sights for my Mark23 (i know its now a USP, but it was zeroed the same way) That way i zeroed them for the top of the front blade at 25 yards.

I think it says in the manual somewhere (with the replacement sights/how to zero) page that they are centred for the front white dot at 25 yards.

Good luck!
