I don't know why they would be marked so neither can I tell why, but all Euro ammo makers (as well as arm makers) are supposed to follow the above system to be able to sell their products in the EEC. Anyways, in a shotgun, I don't think 1 mm should be a problem....
Anyways, this, for sure won't help clearing up the thing...
Have a look at these Euro ammo makers, you'll see there's no such 75mm.

They also make many variants, like the 73mm (mostly in .410 and 10 Ga) wich is 2 7/8".
They also name some adding the decimal, like 67.5mm.... But CIP standardized it without the decimals...
