I lost mine.

I was putting my rifle back together in it's original configuration, and I seem to have lost the metal cap that fits in between the upper handguard and the sight block. I was wondering if anyone knew where I could get a replacement one from any of the dealers here on CGN, or, at the risk of being told to place a WTB ad in the equipment section of the Military Surplus Rifles, if anyone had one to spare.

Right now I have my handguard taped in place because I'm classy and it's an SKS.

Cheers,
Dave

Yeah I can certainly see how a less broken part is somewhat slightly preferable. :) You could try Lever Arms, they usually have SKS spare parts.

(Ferrule.)

Beat that thing back into shape and use it!

Lever Arms has the hand guard assembly with tube for twenny bucks. (I think all their SKS parts are from stripped Chinese models.) Try TradeEx or Marstar, or some other site sponsors. Or buy from the U.S.A. (eBay, SKSMan, Liberty Tree).

+1 The metal is pretty thin and amenable to a pair of decent pliers. Says the guy that crushed the hand guard and bent the gas tube trying to remove the ferrel pin while the guard was in a vice. Whoops - parts gun for Bubba:)

Am I understanding right that that's the piece that holds the hand guard on the gas tube? If so I have a spare laminate hand guard and gas tube and a spare hardwood(?) hand guard. Just shoot me a pm with your address.

Just to be clear, I lost my ferrule thingy, that picture I posted was from Google Images. And I am inclined to just buy another damn one, what with the rifle/crate combos going on.

Lever Arms is the only one that has them...in Canada. I looked and looked , with out any success, And then one can up on the EE for sale. It took about 3 month , and I still had to buy the whole upper hand guard..I think I paid $25.00-30.00 shipped. Can't remember.
EE might be your best choice.
Cheers

Btw - to add to my first post, the only thing I wrecked was the hand guard. The gas tube straightened out in the vice and the ferule was fixable with pliers. But I was trying to remove the ferule pin and had clamped the handguard shimmed and in towel in the vice. Whew, sorry run on sentence. I learned that it is better to drill the pin out and replace it. Fortunately, the AA stock came with two pins and as such have a spare.
