A Remington 783 in 7mm Rem Mag.

You must not have read the whole thread, the problem was the scope, not the rifle! However, free will and choice is a great thing, there are many great rifles out there including this one, so enjoy the selection process, it's all good!

So what happens when all your scopes have a BDC reticle? This a flaw in the rifle and not the optic, some Sako Model 85's have the same issue and there is zero excuse for that company to have this problem, Remington doesnt surprise me though. You are right that its great to have many choices though. Enjoy your 783.

Cheers!!

You just get a slightly higher set of rings, also not all scopes do this as mine do not! I will enjoy the 3 I have, and possibly more!

Just bought another one in 7mm Rem Mag. Going to see if it shoots as well as the first one, which I still have.

This time I am going to leave the cheapo, no name, 3-9X40 scope on the rifle, and see how long it survives. If it doesn't shoot very well, will take the 3.5-10 Leupold off the first one to see if there is any difference in accuracy.

Have checked the ejection, and no probelms with loaded or empty brass. Going to the range later tonight or tomorrow.

Stay tuned,
Ted

Scott, do your scopes with BDC reticule have long covers on windage as well as elevation turrets? When I switched to the 3.5-10X 40 Leupold there were no longer any ejection issues.

The 270 had a newest model Weaver K6 mounted very low in Weaver rings, and had no ejection issues. It was also a less than minute of angle shooter with Winchester factory ammo.
