I just read this in another thread...

After 50 years in the gun industry Murray Charlton Ind will be closing it's doors.

I've had many dealings with them and always got top service and quality. I wonder who will take up Sig and S&W warranty work???

It is sad to lose the work of another skilled craftsman. Murray has done a fair bit of work for me over the years, all of it stellar!!
I still have some S&W work I need done but hesitate with the outfit who has taken up the warranty work so will be sending them back to S&W in the USA.

According to their website, Grech Outdoors is taking over the S&W warranty work. Never needed MCI(touch wood) to service my guns but their location is/was within driving distance.

Murray's a top shelf guy. But there gets to be a point where a fella just wants to have some more time for himself, family, life etc.

Do the math, 50 yrs in the business, the clock is running out on the rest of it.... he deserves to really enjoy the years left.

I say, good on him to make the decision. But yes, it's a sad day for gun owners, too.

Can anyone send their S&W to the mothership in the USA from Canada?

I wonder if Grech Outdoors will become a site sponsor like MCI is/was?

**Edit, maybe we don't want that... Google review score of 2.9 and their dated website looks like something I designed in grade 9 computer lab...

This really sucks. I was procrastinating on having my 686 rebuilt and now I don't know who to send it to! No way am I dealing with Grech...

If anyone has experienced Grech Outdoors' service, be afraid - be very afraid, and send your S&W to the US for service. No parts, no care, no timeline, no responsiveness, no courtesy, no communication.

MCE (Murray Charlton Enterprises) is not a site sponsor. I think you are thinking of MDC (MD Charlton Co) which was started by Murray and sold years ago.

Good question. I bet it's a real hassle.
