A shameless plug for Savage rifles.

Wow, impressive.

A young man at a shooting range asked a gnarled old man, "How do you get to Bisley?"

The old man replied, "Practice, Practice, and Practice...." pause then looks at the young mans equipement, then looks him straight in the eye...."and buy Savage".

;)

Darrel is a member of CGN here. These guys are talented shooters and there is nothing wrong witht he Savage F-Class rifle line. Good guns

Also take into consideration that (although Team Savage says that their rifles are "right off the shelf") I am sure Savage is not going to send these guys their "Run of the Mill, off the shelf" rifles.

These guys are sponsored by Savage, represent Savage, and are probably getting hand picked components from their assembly lines.

ie. Straight actions, non (or less)-chattery barrels, straight chambers and threading etc.

If it were your company...would you not make sure the people representing you had the best you had to offer?

These guys are awesome shooters and you couldn't ask to meet a nicer bunch of guys.

Obviously, but these rifles are pitted against guns costing a lot more, that are also fielded by very capable shooters to boot. It speaks volumes.

Savage makes a fine precision rifle in their F-Class and FTR lines. Some work extrmely well in fact the fellow that shot with CyaN1de (Oct 31st) and tied with him against his full on custom stuff was using a Savage F-Class in 6BR.

Having said that, there are members of the club I shoot with that have had less than stellar results, but I will say this for Savage, they had no problems exchanging the guns that didn't shoot.

I bet my buddy wishes he had of known this... He has a 22-250 LRPV repeater that shoots shotgun patterns..LOL.. well like 1.5MOA.. with handloads.. He has rechambered and recrowned and no luck.. so a new barrel is now on order.. I can't remember if he ordered Krieger or Galliard or Shilen..well it was onna the three..LOL

Oh crap... now I'm going to need a new size in hats!! :D

but seriously, there were a few other people on the US Team *besides* the Team Savage crew:

Team USA:
Darrell Buell; Captain (Team Savage)
Gary Rasmussen; Coach
John Weil (Team Savage)
Paul Phillips
Monte Milanuk (Team Savage)
Jeff Rorer
Dale Carpenter

(Rutland Cup)
Stan Pate (Team Savage)
Mike Miller
Warren Dean
Brad Sauve

It is telling though that my top ranked shooter (John Weil) was shooting a box Savage. They really aren't cherry picked, believe it or don't. That along with the fact that John is an excellent holder. The selection criteria for the National Team was the best vertical holders... period.

Darrell Buell

BTW: for humor, check out the latest Savage video...

I'm not a fan of Savage....never have been and probably never will be. I will however give credit where credit is due and that is to the shooters. Congrats to you Darrell and your team mates.

If I had a cameraman with me at the range and little editing I could do the same thing:). Here I go stirring the pot, actually I have been quite impressed with all the postive responses from Savage shooters.:canadaFlag:

Most any brand of rifle can be made to shoot accurately. Where Savage has really stepped as compared to other manufacturers is that they sell rifles ready for competition in F-class , F/TR, Palma and Benchrest at a price most can afford. This is good for the sport as it can provide a great platform for a new competitor to start out with and as the fine shooters from Team Savage have proven, Win! Now if they'd only build a ready to go Silhouette rifle.
