A shameless plug for Savage rifles.

i own 3 savages and cant make one complaint about them. out of the box they are all extremely accurate. and it is great to see a company that makes a rifle that will let the average joe run with the big dogs in F-class without breaking the bank

Most any brand of rifle can be made to shoot accurately. Where Savage has really stepped as compared to other manufacturers is that they sell rifles ready for competition in F-class , F/TR, Palma and Benchrest at a price most can afford. This is good for the sport as it can provide a great platform for a new competitor to start out with and as the fine shooters from Team Savage have proven, Win! Now if they'd only build a ready to go Silhouette rifle.

A factory sporter class rimfire and centerfire silhouette rifle would be a great addition to the Savage line-up. Especially if they could put as much effort into developing a quality rimfire action as they have into their centerfires (IE: spun-on barrel, 2 action screws and good trigger).
Cheers,
Grant

Kudos to Savage for making these rifles.

Just a note for anyone considering these rifles for sanctioned Benchrest competition. The BR model would not be able to make weight in any of the following short range BR classes: LV (10.5 lbs), or HV (12.5 lbs), or Sporter, or Hunter, or Varmint Hunter classes. They would be legal in Unlimited (anything goes).

As to the 1000 yd BR guns they would be legal. Light Gun is 17 lbs, Heavy Gun is anything goes.

Of course at informal club matches that would be up to whomever is running the match, as to what weight limit they will follow.
