I have an old rifle with a SIN scratched in it like the old boys used to do.

Does anyone know if it is possible to determine the name of a previous owner using a SIN?

Just curious who had my old Winchester back in the day!

That information is not available to the police even if it entailed returning property to the rightful owner?
The sharing of that information ended about the mid 70's.
Using the first number would only tell you in which province the subscriber lived/worked when he was issued that SIN.

Alright thanks. Looks like the first number was a 6 so reckon that was the Prairies from what I can tell
