The reply to my email

Hi auracle,

We regret that you are disappointed with the path we have chosen. As mentioned in the open letter from our CEO, we will continue to engage with these brands as well as our peers in the outdoor industry in North America in ways that are consistent with our mission and values. We are prepared to have a wider discussion throughout our industry and North America. And to be clear, MEC is not against hunting, we know many MEC members hunt or practice responsible sport shooting.

Best regards,

Salomé

To answer the bold :then why are these liars doing this in the first place?

Probably because the NRA is less about hunting and more about fear mongering to create firearms sales.

Many have recieved the exact same e-mail.

Doesn’t need to. The shooter in a scenario like this is out for maximum damage in a short time frame. They will generally focus on targets of opportunity and will not discriminate. Meanwhile the good guys have to act rapidly while picking out a single target from within hundreds or thousands of other people, most panicked, and be able to neutralize the threat with minimal collateral damage.

Long story short, it’s much easier to be the bad guy.

Very true.
