More like just put away with no care and then forgotten about. It takes time and a lot of neglect to let things get that bad.

The shoes are a trade secret!!

I could certainly entertain some more work, but, will Big Brother be looking over my shoulder while I work? Because then we have a problem....

This pretty much describes it because the bore is in really great shape, so I'm guessing it was "put away wet" in the sense that, it got wet from being outside and then was put away...
