A stangeday in gun pimpdom. Black, Green, Gold?

This has got me wonderring how a pair of gilded Browning 1919s would look under the chandeliers on the fender of the limosine from "Escape From New York"???

What about the "El Jefe's"?....Nothing says gangsta like the Mexican flag and a pair of gold suppressors.

This was probably the saddest day for 1911's everywhere.

I have experience with both. VZs are better, but I would not feel ill prepared with either. The concepts are different. The looser tolerances make AKs easier to build and maintain and make them more reliable and usable over time. There are plenty of AKs banging away without any bore grooves left 50 years later. The VZ was a Cold War gun - made better, shot less. The weakness is the locking block. Everyone with a VZ now should inspect it for cracking.

I saw a website in England that had a couple of actual Sterling presentation guns (dewat of course:rolleyes:). One was chrome and one was gold...I think the gold one was about $10000 IIRC.

ETA: Found it!

Ha! I used to work across the road from this place, lots of cool stuff, including some tanks and APCs in the parking lot. Hilariously also next to a day care centre.

The 1911 is hideous, especially considering that it is a very rare Gold Cup Commander. I don't think that is a Safari Arms frame; they only have one finger groove, which means that the original frame was ruined. Strangely enough, someone went to all that trouble, yet it still has the goofy Colt "duckbill" grip safety.
