I tell all about my ventures and this morning was yet another one that did not size with me this time. I have a lot of success but I do also have that moment that I do Miss and I tend to get down on myself bad.
I scouted an area that I hunt and have taken a couple yotes this year and see that there is 2 maybe 3 different fresh tracks going into the area. I decided to take the high side in which I drive into a 400+ field park in a dip and walk the rest of the way to a fence and setup there. As I walk up the pathway in the field and reach the top there is a coyote some 300 + yards out in a open field but on a property that I can not hunt.
I get down and grab the hand call (QuakerBoy Howler Pack) and use the female howl and start to do a distress call. The yote is walking and he stops and looks my way. I give him another scream as I know now he'll hear me and he turns and starts my way.
I exstend the Bipod and as he is on his way he stops. I give him another distress call and he comes running. As he gets closer he vearing to the right getting down wind of the call and there is a down hill ridge in front of me and I dont want to lose him in sight so I start sliding towards the ridge so I can see over the edge. He gets within a 100 yards of me and stops facing me I take aim but i'm wavering all over after having so much to think about and calling by hand too. As I think I'm on him a squeeze off and Miss
He starts running to my left but I lose him behind the ridge in front of me and I have to stand to shoot. I try to lead him at about 150 and try with no success

As he gets father out I try him again at about 250 running away and He flips and keeps running.
I went and had a good look and no Cigars
