December 2024 Update, ok there´s been another mega ban but there is something worth considering.
Again weirdly this ban is in many ways good. It has pushed both the Liberal, NDP and Conservative parties into ideological corners. The size of the overall bans, cost and work involved are now so inescapable that they have to be conducted or killed.
The NDP pushed back against the C-21 G46 amendment, this and the February ban will only encourage further pushing because they are bleeding rural votes to Conservatives. Ensure to write politely with great displeasure to your NDP representatives. But then vote conservative.
The liberals, likewise need to know how unhappy you are, a policy reversal at this point is very unlikely but it doesn´t hurt to let them know how much this will hurt them so that years from now if they return to power they choose to avoid doing this again
The Conservatives could get cocky, do not allow this. The conservatives need to feel that support for them is on a knife edge despite a likely giga-majority. If they don´t work for us and work for us quickly then they lose all the support right away. We can not be held hostage to the idea of the liberals coming back and so needing to vote for them a 2nd and 3rd time. No this has to be dealt with right away. Rescind all OICs with OICs and bring in the simplified classification system right away.
Write to your MPs, there are automated methods of printing letters out to many MPs in one go. Use windowed envelopes so you don´t need to write the address just fold, seal and send the letter without a postage stamp as one isn´t required when sending a letter to an MP
- >65,000 Canadian made AR180/AR15 fully built rifle/lower variants were made pre-ban
- Easily 500,000 additional firearms have been banned
- The SKS will likely be banned, it is being questioned at every press conference where bans take place, and Poly is pushing for it hard. This will add circa 1 million or more firearms to the total, this weirdly is good, it makes it even harder to do
- Even prior to any additional bans we have now reached >1 million banned firearms. The total cost of organising, collecting, compensating for and disposing of each firearm will easily eclipse $2000 (yes of course the majority are worth more than $2000) putting the total bill at $2 billion pre-SKS ban. This is of course before you take into account additional cost increases that will come from examples like Saskatchewans firearms collection and inspection requirements
