That basically sums up why so many great contributing members have either been banned or just left in frustration over the years.

The only people left are the angry boomers, and they ruin most threads.

Oh, and thanks for the write up, it was a great contribution.

Indeed, I've already received one infraction for giving my honest thoughts on one or two of these people. This site has a no vulgarity rule but hey so long as you use synonyms, snide comments and the site is full of more useless comments than snowflakes in a blizzard it's all good.
 
I got an infraction for self censoring the f-word. Guess it was one star too little... And you're right, you can say some pretty nasty stuff here, just as long as it's discreet.

You can't make this stuff up.

I've been coming to this site since 2002 or so, went to my introductory shoots based from this site back in the days when you could still bring a FAL to a range. It's sad to see the state it's currently in today, a lot of very good people have been chased off because some people can't handle differing opinions, yet those same people will turn around and call the other side 'intolerant'. It's laughable if it wasn't so sad.

Just a couple of days ago I literally came across a PowerPoint presentation on the Canadian gun control website, that was listing the currently non-restricted firearms. They were still missing quite a few.
Don’t make it any easier for the ####s to do their “job”.
Don’t forget that OIC left the list open-ended, granting them authority to add to it as they see fit.

What’s the actual value of this information anyway?
* Prices are out to lunch now with inventory set to 0 as Manufacturers and retailers pulled these back until the dust settles.
* For newbies to know their options? Just go to any decent retailer website and search for “non-restricted” and you’ll see what’s there. Otherwise there’s literal threads on each individual firearm here. I just did the same to find out what’s still not in OIC and what I can still get before the next ban. Not like I plan on surrendering what I currently have anyway.
* For author to delight us with his sense of humour? Fine, but it’s very subjective.

And don’t overestimate how smart anti-gun lobby actually is. I’ve seen their materials, they aren’t that sophisticated and substantial part of their research is googling, so, generating lists is making their “research” a lot easier.

I straight up came back to this thread for the link to the Mongolian throat singing. You guys need to chill the #### out and enjoy some cheap laughs.

Edit to add: I started a thread to show off a 7.62x25 AR barrel that I made which devolved into arguments about the legality of cutting down a blank to make a shorter barrel from. Absolute no-fun zone sometimes.

Yeah, it's only real purpose seems to be for OP to stroke himself.

It's better if newbies take the time to understand guns, with some understanding all the different options and configurations reveal themselves. A list like this might serve as a shortcut so someone can have a less in depth understanding of what is available and why, but it doesn't serve them in the long run anyway.

Antigun people on the other hand don't want to understand and doing technical research on stuff you don't like is a chore and a burden. A list like this really does help them efficiently identify and categorize guns that they might not otherwise find. Ultimately it's better and easier for them to have to learn less and ban more, and this list does exactly that.

How does he justify naming the tr? That's not even submitted. And then call it a big pink dildo or whatever ... honestly a really stupid useless post

If you think frequent, recent posts mentioning and identifying ones not even submitted to the FRT has no possible effect at all, you're the one dining at noon buddy. No one suggested it was the only thing, but it is only helping one group of people and it's not any gun owners

Honestly I think it's fair to say that the potatoes in my cupboard cringe at how stupid many of the posts in this forum are.
 
Fellas, you need to understand that we are in the middle of a legal challenge of the Federal Government over their proposed bans.
The tone, the messaging and the content of this site didn't matter much before but now became very important.

Your Social Justice Warriors, your "journalists" and just about anyone else will dissect it, skew the perspective, downright misinterpret and use it to back up whatever outrageous point of view they hold and whatever else they need to do to reach their objective of ultimately banning everything in this life. Forums, FB posts, Twitter, Reddit, everything is now exposed to anyone and can be grouped together and presented in a way that will make you think there's an effin Armagheddon out there, and by the time you gather facts to counter that narrative, the attention is turned somewhere else (since everyone has an attention span of a goldfish).

So, keep it classy, keep it brief, don't post any sorts of lists, don't start Holy Wars, don't be stupid. Now is also not the time to showcase your CNC machining, metal fabrication and heavy customization skills.
Pretend you are sitting on a court bench, being cross-examined by the prosecution and choose your words accordingly.

We can go back to old ways of bashing each other over insignificant things, if need be, after we win.

See I'm perfectly content with reasoned posts like this, it's the "take it down no da gubt is watching" that is is frustrating.

There's years of posts to comb through and large areas of this website are full of Hitler disarmament claims, and worse. Nothing here now will make a difference. A post with bleeding goat's eyes and more won't alter what anyone is able to pull up.

It's literally stated have been written in humour, I appreciate your intent but I politely disagree. Journos/Antis etc are perfectly capable of conducting research. This list has been useful to many people. This website is jam packed with misinformation, fudd lore, tactical ninjas and more. Frankly the number of times the same questions were being asked over and over again by people who didn't bother to conduct basic research is annoying. I'm happy to help people who show a modicom of helping themselves.

I made the effort to produce the one thing this forum needs more than anything else and has the least of: Transparent, sourced, factual, useful information with humour.

Yup I like to kick the hens that come pecking with stupid comments, yup I actually grow frustrated at the medieval mentalities expressed here and yup I will deliberately antagonise them on occassion.
