I recently picked up a converted Zulu shotgun on the EE. It looked a bit beat up and rusty but still looked like an nice project if not too far gone. Well, as it turned out, most of what I thought was rust is actually the original browned finish and not in too bad shape. It is liberally stamped with matching serial#s and although obviously not stripped down in a very long time, the trigger mech is pristine.
It's a 12 bore (black powder)and I already put a blank through and it all pops just fine. These are not high on the collectors list but a nice gun none the less. I plan on cleaning it up and restoring it to it's original (converted) condition.
Note the beautiful script on the inner face of the lock plate

Looks like a French lock, most likely from a model 1857 conversion system Tabatiere.
