On the books is a 338 lapua on a rem action

Well, pretty much you std run of the mill 700 accurized and re-bedded, 24 inch R-5 barrel Pined steel leupold bases, and leupold rings, with a Mark4, 4x14 50mm 30mm tube, nothing fancey but it works for me I am kinda old school, not a fan of the pistol grip A-5 stocks, nice but its not me. New Timney trigger, HS- percision stock!

I have always liked the look of the M-40 I know its not even close, but reminds me of the look, of the straight stocks

Shot this rifle and it shoots very well, with 43.0 gr of varget 2.815 OAL 175g bullets, also shoot wel with 168s and varget at 45.5 grains. same group sizes ran 50 rounds , no fouling, think its a keeper.

Building one now Identical in the 338 lapua

Looks like you got tac-tickled. What kind of groups did you get for your reloads? Also, I thought HS stocks were all aluminum bedded - is this an exception?

They are bedded I just smoothed it off touched it up, and glazed it.

It shoots good, groups were very respectable as good as it gets with me behind the trigger, maybe a better shooter could do better.
