A thought for the off season - A Marlin 444 converted to fully rifled 410

Some 410 shells will fit 444 and be able to shoot. Think Remington worked when I tried it. I also have a magazine article on how they made 444 brass into shot
 
So you start with a 444 marlin rifle... You gonna get the caliber engraving on the barrel redone while you're at it? I suspect that is the first thing a CO is gonna look at?
Would have to be re-chambered for sure, either turn the barrel in a half turn and do a new stamp.

There are 410 Lee Enfields out there, they are re-barreled, so no different really than that.
 
Why anyone would bastardize a nice 444 Marlin rifle, or a 41 magnum lever is pure insanity.:oops:

Buy a 410 single shot and have fun.......:)
Could just take a rifle that is non-funtioning and build something, this is pure hypothetical, as in the LottoMax drops in my lap.
