A tip for the next time you paint a synthetic stock.

At least an injection molded stock anyways. Apparantly there are still traces of the release agent on the surface and alcohol won't remove it. Use vineger and wipe the stock down. It will remove the agent and help with a better base. I just read that and I figure it's a cheap way to insure you get a good bond.

What style? eg. woodland, snow, the old leaf silhouette overspray, cattails etc.

I believe you just described the actual rifle they use in the commercial where the shooter only says the word "yup" to all the questions!

Vinegar works well for RTV silicone, since some (old style) uses acetic acid curing.

There are pre-wipe to remove silicon, but dish soap works very well, and is used often for prepaint.
