yes i read that book too.
incredible story.
they made 2 movies from his story.i saw the second one(on netflix or amazon prime) where he tries to find those responible for the war crimes he suffered at the hands of imperial japan.
Do you recall the title of that one?
 
The 2nd one is unbroken path to redemption.
I saw it but don't remember where--I think on youtube tv in the states.

I checked youtube.both movies are there to buy or rent.there are many trailers and docs. there also.His true story on the 700 club is there.

Keith Close from Morse , Sask is mentioned in one of Mowats books. Cpl Close was killed in Italy.
I talked to people who knew him. They said he was a little guy always looking for a scrap. Guess he found one.
He has a memorial in Morse cematary on his brothers headstone. I help take care of the cematary. There is also a lake inN Sask named after him. I have been there.

Read the story of Eddie Rickenbacker many times. His family emigrated from Switzerland to Canada at a time when many people did this. Including my great-grandparents. Glad he kept the connection to his ancestors homecountry. He died not so far from where I grew up and still live.
