I've been thinking lately about selling my Beretta 89, but I have no clue what it might be worth.

So a few details on it.

It has exactly 14,800 rounds fired.
I'm the original owner, having bought it in 1989.
The original right handed walnut grips got lost in one of my many moves over the years, so it only has the left handed ones that are on it. Right handed replacement grips can still be purchased online, though they run an outrageous $250 or so.
It's wearing the thinnest front sight. The medium and wide sights haven't been lost, so they'd be included in the purchase price.
It has 4 magazines.
The finish is getting shiny on the sides of the barrel, basically above where I grip it to rack the slide. And the finished is chipped off the inside or the slide from ejected brass.
There is a small round ding in the frame, visible in the photo, right above the front of the trigger guard, from an incorrectly attached trigger lock.
It really needs to be well cleaned every 200 rounds. Beyond that it begins to have misfires and stovepipes.

So what say you? What's a fair asking price if I decide to sell it.

That is a rarer steel framed version (compared to the 87) so could justify a premium imo, I just don't know if 15k is a lot of use for this type of gun. It looks in good shape and if the rifling is still strong, 800+ maybe? I really have no idea though. There are probably a few guys that would pay a premium for it, but if you can't hit them directly, your market will be the same guys looking for 87s and 41s, and they may not care it is more a unique variant. In terms of grips, I'm wondering if cheaper model 87 grips could also be used.

Graham,
I don't think that the round count is excessive considering it is a .22lr. It more depends on how the bore has been cleaned I think.

Actually the frame is aluminum not steel. Hence the ding from a trigger lock.

The bore looks great still. Cleaned with a Dewey rod from the chamber end. Can't photograph it right now as I only have the camera on my phone.

I'm no where near good enough to do it regularly, but I've shot many 8 round groups of 3/4 inch at 25 yards unsupported by a rest. The trigger is a dream.
