Robert Gun and Pistol Warehouse, 16 Staining Lane, Cheapside, 1805-08. Probably the Birmingham gunmaker, 1799-1813, who became Robert Wheeler & Son, 1814-43 and marked guns ‘London’.

Shop in London. Made box-lock flintlock pocket pistols with under spring bayonets, and flintlock duelling pistols. Also made brass barrel flintlock blunderbusses. Under Royal Government contract made flintlock holster pistols and musketoons. Had a contract with the Hudson's Bay Company for flintlock trade muskets.
Wheeler was one of the sixteen contractors hired by the British Board of Ordnance during the War of 1812 to produce trade guns for Native American allies and delivered a total of 1,491 Northwest Trade Guns between 1813 and 1816.
