A17 early range report

I finally made it to the range to test a few more types of ammunition and found that my A17 likes Hornady 17 vmax the best. My best five shot 100 yard group is about 1.75 inches but I haven't been able to try out any of the A17 ammo yet. I will use the gun as a 50 meter gopher gun, buy a Boyds stock when they become available and enjoy it for what it is.

Well dodgeman after all the great things I've had to say about this little rifle I went to the range yesterday and almost threw it in the lake! I was shooting the a17 ammo and every second round miss fed! ALL DAY! I have a feeling it's the mag. Or you cursed the rifle! Lol

Any input from any of you guys would be appreciated.

I personally have a slight feeling it's the mag... Can see on the top of the mag where the bolt is sliding across it,.. And now after shooting it more, the gun does seem to be feeding more reliably.. I'm wondering if the bolt was rubbing on the top of the mag and causing too much friction and slowing the bolt down... I'm not fully convinced but it's a theory.. I'm getting consistent 1.5 - 2" 10 round groups with the A17 rifle now with federal blue box and the cci a17 ammo, regularly shooting groups under the 1.5" mark but not enough to call it consistent.. I'm happy with the gun, but I only need 1 so when the second 1 arrives (this week hopefully) it will be going into the EE..

I was able to acquire some of the CCI A17 ammunition on the weekend and tried it out tonight. The average 10 shot groups were under 1.5 inches and the best five shot group was just under half an inch. I put around 250 rounds through the gun so far and except for running a boresnake down the barrel before shooting it, I haven't done anything to the gun. Am going to keep a round count and continue shooting it until accuracy falls off or the gun malfunctions. Overall, I am very satisfied with this rifle.
