I never used one of these before. All 3 of my 15's had 6-pos collapsible tubes

I pick up a Standard Rifle tube and of course the locking nut....

Obviously, the locking nut is only needed for the M4 adj. tubes. I can see that now that it is in my hands.....

So what keeps the standard rifle tube in place?? I just crank it in hand tight?

I know this is a seriously lame question.....but I haven't seen one of these yet......:p

Hi,

No don't just crank it.

You have an A1/A2 type tube and an A2 stock? You turn the tube just enough so it covers the buffer retainer pin edge. Then the stock attached to it using the top screw, the bottom holds the sling loop in place. When putting the stock on, watch you don't crush/pinch the rear take down pin detent spring.

The A1/A2 tube is torqued on. The collar on the tube stops controls the amount it screws in to hold the buffer retainer. No loctite required. Torque to correct amount is required. US Military specification is 35 to 39 foot pounds.
