I am exploring options on building up either an SBI or MRA bolt action rifle and cobbling parts.

I was wondering if there is a way to block an A2 FSB gas block as to retain the sight but eliminate the gas tube port which is mounted on a semi-auto 16" AR barrel? I like the look of the A2 and the thrifty Scot in me wants to recycle as much as possible.

Thanks in advance.:)

Sorry for the elementary question, reinstall what upside down?

The gas tube, if its upside down the hole going into the gas tube will be facing up, effectively blocks the gas in the FSB. Plus its handy to keep the handguard retainer indexed properly if you plan on using a standard handguard with delta ring.

Ah thanks, that makes sense.

Could also tap it for a screw, which would also hold the handguard cap in place.
