Hi.

I was wondering what the Front sight of an A frame A2 style pin height is suppose to be for an M4 platform. I know that there is different pins but what is the standard height from the base of it to the top just for the pin.

Thanks

K I am new to this. Why is the last number smaller then the first. .273 of an inch for height? Does the other number depict the width of the pin?

I also converted that to mm which is roughly 7mm which this pin is.

When I look at other sights I have that pin is a lot shorter in which the original I had at 5mm which is shown below.

When I think back also when I used a c7 that sight had a shorter pin as well in which the pin was shorter then the guards. If you look at this one when zeroed it is same height as the guards for the one above.

The guards on both are exact same height.

Picture below is what I mean on my other a framed a2 sight.

It's a toleranced dimension on an arsenal blueprint. The nominal height of the post is .273", and is permitted to be up to .010" shorter than that. Nominal width is .072" - .004".

So from that info the top pictured one is correct and the bottom one isn't then. I just don't remember the pin being to the height of the side guards. Was a long time ago in the 90's lol.
