Aaahhh, wrecked my 30-06 die...help

Hey I just got my first stuck case and wrecked the die trying to get it out. Man was that bugger stuck. Anyone got an extra Lee full length resizing die they want to part with? Other wise I'll order an new one tommorw from Russells. I'm in Alberta and today is Oct 27. PM please if anyone's got one. Oh ya, 30-06 please, thanks
 
ive had brass jam up on me twice on my 30-06 dies..
both times i used the decapper bolt to push it out..with no visual damage effect on it
any one else try this out?
 
Wow, it's out

Well I got it out, man was that thing stuck. First I tryed banging on the decapping rod, but it was going to bend. So I tapped the back of the case and threaded it, used a bolt and socket to try and wind it out, nothing, streched the bolt. Build a rig that allowed a grease gun to screw into the top of the die, plugged the primer hole and put 2000 psi of grease into it, nothing. drilled hole bigger and banged in a big extractor pin to just get the SOB out, still nothing. Gave up.... This morning I thought, "one more try..." as Russells doesn't open until 11 on Sunday. Only thing I could think of was to try tapping the back again but with a bigger bolt, so this time 3/8's, course thread and socket...Damn thing wound right out. I'm wondering if some of the grease got forced between the two and helped it slip out. Oh well, just loaded some rounds with it and shot 1" @ 100y so I guess it's OK.

Oh trust me, if we could have found a slide hammer we would have use it. I've made a puller now out of a 3/8 bolt and tubing nut that fits nicely over the die. The first bolt we used was actually a machine screw, 10x28. I think is was too small and twisting as the pressure was put on it, thereby holding the case in the die. I think the extractor was also spreading the case and making it harder to pull out. The grease gun idea was good but maybe it was forcing the case "out", harder against the sides of the die. Anyway, the 3/8 bolt just wound it right out, could have been everything else helping too, just gonna try and not get any more stuck!!
 
"...just gonna try and not get any more stuck!!..." What case lube did you use? Sounds like you didn't use enough or none at all.
 
Are you shooting a pump action 30.06? If not, you can likely get by with just a neck sizing die, it will add to the life of your brass.

I'd say that poor die has been to H E double hockey sticks & back.

You NEED stuck case remover. :)
